The Walhalla Crown Reserves Board of Management Inc, with assistance from Goldstar, Victorian State Government, Baw Baw Shire Council and from within the Boards own recourses has undertaken a complete overhaul of the visitor experience over the past two years.

Improvements include rock bolting and other safety works, drainage, pathway construction and interpretive signage within the Long Tunnel Extended Gold Mine.

External improvements have included providing a new access bridge across Stringers Creek to safely take coaches, sealed access roadway to the mine entrance, main carpark sealing, upper and lower carparks surfaced in crushed rock and extensive stormwater undertakings. A new alpine walking bridge has been built across the mine entrance to increase visitor safety.

Detailed design and planning has been completed to update both the internal and external lighting systems for visitor access and enjoyment.
